There are several theories of who is wife was. Ann Hammond may not be correct. Two theories connect him with our ancestor Rev. John Lothrop because John Lothrop refers to Thomas as "my brother Dimmick" which means that either Rev. Lothrops second wife as a sister of Dimock or a sister of his wife.

Thomas was one of three Deacons in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Both of the other Deacons, William Brocker and Henry Cobb were also progenitors of our family.

Elder Thomas Dimock was the son of Edward Dimock of Barnstable, England. With Rev Joseph Hull and Joseph Bursley he Founded Barnstable, MA. He came originally to Dorchester, MA in 1635, was at Hingham in 1638, Scituate 1639, and Barnstable in 1640.
He married Anne Hammond, daughter of William Hammond and grandaughter of Sir William Penn, father of Quaker William Penn of Pennsylvania.*
Ensign Shubael DImock 1644-1732 married second Joanna Bursley in 1663, He was ensign of the militia company.

1638, next year to Scituate, and in 1640 to Barnstable.

and family. Destination was "Mahachusulest Bay". Settled first in Dorchester, MA
in 1635. Selectman in 1635. Elected Freeman on 25 May 1636. Moved to Hingham in
1638. Moved to Scituate in 1639. Grantee and founder of Barnstable, MA in May,
1639. Ordaining elder of Mr. Lothrop's church in Barnstable on 7 Aug. 1650.
Deputy to the general court and freeman of the Plymouth colony in 1639.
Magistrate in 1641 and 1644. Six times a deputy from 1639 to 1650. Lieutenant
and drillmaster in 1643. Nuncupative will proved 4 June 1658.

His nuncup. will gave all to his w. Ann for the reason
that, "the ch. were hers as well as his." Various spelling has this name appear. in; and it may, originally, be the same as that of Dymocke, the heredit. champion of Eng. wh. at coronations, owes the service of challenge to all competitors for the crown.
